The Groves has the GROVES LAWN BOWLING CLUB (GLBC) as one of the Lifestyle choices people can choose when they are residents here. Although Lawn Bowling is hundreds of years old and there are public Lawn Bowling facilities available, the GLBC is private opposed to being available for general public use. Any resident can join for the first year FREE, and after that it is only $30 a year. Immediate family members 16 years old and older may be Associate Members. The GLBC has one of the best Greens in the entire world, and they host a number of Regional, National, or International Tournaments each year. GLBC Members take part in weekly Club activites as Wednesday and Saturday games. They can visit and play at other Lawn Bowling Clubs throughout the world. They enter Tournaments which take place every month and get involved in inter-club competitions. This is a wonderful way for people to meet other people and keep active mentally and physically. Men and women, young or old, can all play without gender or age advantages. Many play into their 80's and 90's.
